Dear Parent / Carer

This year’s Sports Day will take place on Friday 21st June at the FB Fields, beginning at 8.45am and finishing at 3.00pm. All students in Years 7, 8 and 9 will take part in their chosen track and field events on the day.
Students who are dropped off by parents can use the FB car park. There is limited space to lock up bicycles and we regret that the school is not able to take responsibility for their security. Bicycles must not be taken in the track area. It is suggested that students consider leaving bicycles at home for this special day.

The school buses will run as normal and will drop off and pick up at FB Fields on route to and from Le Rocquier School. Should the weather be too bad to run the event this will be announced on BBC Radio Jersey, Channel 103, the school website and school Twitter and Facebook account by 7.30am and the buses will be directed to school for a normal day of lessons. We will reschedule the Sports Day as soon as possible.
Parents and carers are invited to watch and support their child on the day and are requested to obtain a visitor badge from the member of staff at the entrance to the track. The timetable for the day is attached, allowing you to plan for your attendance. Please be aware that these are approximate times only. Spectators will be required to sit in the designated area and will not be permitted to mix with the students, cross the track or stand on the infield.

Clothing
Every student will be taking part in at least two events, so ALL students are required to attend the event in the full Le Rocquier PE kit of plain white t-shirt, red shorts/skort, white socks and suitable trainers/spikes.
Weather
It is the responsibility of each student to be prepared for all weather conditions by bringing sun cream, hats, hay fever medication and waterproof clothing as appropriate.
Food and Drink
Students are advised to bring all food and drink they require for the day with them. They will be able to purchase a limited variety of drinks and snacks at the event. It is strongly recommended that students bring enough water to remain hydrated throughout the day. No student will be allowed to leave the FB Fields to purchase food and drink.
Non-participation
If students are injured or unwell and not able to take part in their event they MUST bring a note to this effect from a parent/carer and must still come dressed in their PE kit.
Behaviour expectations
It goes without saying that the highest standards of behaviour will be expected of all students, with the emphasis on taking part, supporting their house and striving to perform to the best of their ability. Any poor behaviour may result in parents being asked to collect their child from FB or students will be returned to school.
I trust we can rely on your continued support for this special event. We look forward to cheering excitedly and watching our students break a few track records!
