The Portuguese GCSE course aims at developing the students’ ability to communicate effectively in a variety of contexts in Portuguese, as well as increasing their awareness and understanding of the various countries and communities where the language is spoken, whilst enjoying a broad and worthwhile course. Learning a foreign language will help you to take your place in today’s multilingual, global society. This course will also prepare the students to make decisions about their future learning opportunities and career choices.
Students at Key Stage attend three lessons per week.
The assessment for the OCR GCSEs is organised into units – Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing – which will be thoroughly studied and prepared in a progression of different and enjoyable activities. The exams will be taken at the end of the two year course.
This year, the students who have completed their GCSE in Year 10 have the opportunity to study at AS Level.
