Art & Photography
GCSE students taken to library to familiarise them with books and magazines
A poem, illustrated in the Style of Eric Carle, based on one of his animals.
KS4 Reading/researching about artists/photographers for each project set and to inspire for their own photographs.

Dance
Students read about the style of Dance to be studied at the beginning of each new unit.

Drama
In KS3 and KS4 classes use a variety of play scripts
Year 9 students use articles from newspapers and turn these into their own pieces of drama

The Science café (a small area in the science corridor with tables and chairs) has a library of Science books available for students to read.

Technical Skills (Design & Technology)
Research around different design styles, movements and designers.​

Business Studies

Look at scientific vocabulary and use descriptive as well as scientific words to describe what we are doing and how it turns out.
The words gelatinisation, dextrinisation, caramelisation and denaturation are used to ensure understanding and used in the correct context.
Read and act on the instructions given to take ingredients and make a product.


Graphics
Research and design tasks to develop understanding of fonts and typefaces to promote and present information

ICT
Students in Year 7 create an interactive adventure story that involves writing a story with decision points for the reader.
