Welcome to our literacy homepage
On this section of the website you can access a wide range of information about literacy at Le Rocquier School.
At Le Rocquier School we already have a well established reading culture. Many initiatives embedded in the school reading calendar include: a free book for all Year 7 students; weekly Literacy lessons with a Reading Passport award for all Year 8 and 9 students; annual reading challenges for Years 7-9; a peer reading programme; author visits; assemblies; reading displays and a ‘Book of the Month’.
From September every teacher in the school will focus on one aspect of writing for a fortnight throughout the academic year. You can see what the fortnightly literacy focus is on the calendar and access resources for each focus.
We welcome your feedback and should you have any comments or suggestions please contact me via the school office.
